Climate chaos is upon us.
Across sectors, we spin our wheels in siloes, with short-term plans, competing for funding with scarcity mindsets, while working class, Black, Indigenous, Latino, Nepalese and communities of color experience the burdens.
All Boats Rise with a Climate Justice Tide
The Climate Justice Collaborative of Boulder County (CJC) strengthens and supports existing movements and organizations active throughout Boulder County, organizing and building a long-term countywide foundation for sustained action toward climate justice led by communities disproportionately impacted by climate change. The CJC develops and strengthens networking infrastructure between local government, Non-Governmental Organizations, Philanthropists, Academia, Faith-Based Congregations, and especially Grassroots and Frontline-led community groups to unite disparate efforts for more effective, coordinated, collaborative action and climate justice leadership development.

Climate Justice Collaborative
To foster a more just and equitable Boulder County, the mission of the CJC is to understand collective needs and support community based groups and organizations working to minimize the impacts of climate change for underrepresented communities.
Para fomentar un condado de Boulder más justo y equitativo, la misión de CJC es comprender las necesidades colectivas y apoyar a los grupos y organizaciones comunitarios que trabajan para minimizar los impactos del cambio climático en las comunidades subrepresentadas.
The CJC intentionally incorporates a diverse range of voices, centering those of most-impacted community members.
The CJC is committed to a process in which all people, especially communities disproportionately impacted by climate change, lead decision-making.
We are committed to making climate justice in Boulder County community-led and driven- not driven by those with the most “power” and privilege.
The CJC recognizes that achieving inclusivity and equity is a perpetual process rooted in respectful, trusting relationships.
By taking the time to build these relationships and collaboration, we will gain a better understanding of the communities of Boulder County and use alternative paths to climate justice that center those most impacted.
The CJC celebrates and uplifts the vibrant history, resilience, and practices of frontline communities.
To evolve and save ourselves from climate chaos, we must celebrate and empower historically suppressed communities through their strengths and acknowledge their role in our collective struggle for liberty and justice. Linked with centuries of cumulative knowledge to the present organizational work, these communities hold the wisdom and practices for sustainable and systemic change.
